The French language programme with a focus on secondary school education is designed as a symmetric combined study programme comprising two curricula: a major and a minor. The programme will therefore be offered either as a maior plan or as a minor plan, always complemented by a symmetrical minor or maior plan of another Bachelor's degree programme with a focus on secondary school education (Teacher Education). The study in this bachelor programme forms a whole with the follow-up master programme Teaching for secondary schools and together they are conceived as a complex structured study (B.Sc. + M.Sc.), the successful completion of which leads to the qualification of a pedagogical worker - a secondary school teacher according to Act No. 563/2004 Coll. The structure of the programmes is consistently based on from the Framework Requirements for Study Programmes leading to professional qualifications for the performance of regulated professions of teaching staff (No. MSMT-21271/2017-5a). In accordance with the aforementioned MSMT Framework Requirements, the Bachelor's degree programme in French language with a focus on education for secondary schools includes subjects of subject-specific training, as well as the basics of subject-specific didactics, basic disciplines of pedagogical and psychological sciences, and a compulsory assistantship, which the student carries out at a selected secondary school. The realized practice is divided between the two disciplinary components (assisting the teacher in teaching the subject) and the pedagogical-psychological basis (assisting in the educational work of the teacher and his/her activities oriented to the management of the pupil and the class collective). The current conception of teacher training is based on the gradual development of individual competences needed to perform the teaching profession. Therefore, the main aim of the Bachelor's programme in French language with a focus on secondary school education is to prepare and motivate students to enter the follow-up Master's programme in secondary school teaching and, at the same time, to emancipate the basic disciplinary, disciplinary-didactic, pedagogical-psychological and personal-social competences necessary for the role of a teaching assistant, a tutor and, after completing the follow-up programme, a secondary school teacher.
