Key learning outcomes The aim of this study programme is to equip graduates with professional competences required for the profession of teacher in a mainstream kindergarten, a kindergarten with classes for children with special needs and special needs kindergarten, as well as in school facilities in health institutions and non-profit facilities involved in the care of preschool children with SEN. These are psycho-social skills, social and communicative, methodological and subject, diagnostic and interventional (supportive) skills. Based on the studies the graduates will be able to adequately reflect the preschool children with special educational needs, will be ready to participate in their education and training, respect their anatomical, physiological and developmental traits which demand the usage of specialized methods and individualized forms of care for these children.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples Qualified and professionally trained special needs educator for preschool children (preschool teacher) can be employed as a mainstream kindergarten teacher or special needs kindergarten teacher, as well as a managing worker in the middle management level of education. Graduates can also work as an assistant or consultant in the non-profit sector providing services for children with SEN. Graduates acquire competence to independently carry out practical activities of the special needs teacher focused on work with preschool children and family, as well as to carry out educational counselling as a part of comprehensive care for preschool children with special educational needs.
