The programme Czech Language and Literature with a focus on education for secondary schools is designed as a symmetrical type of combined study programme, which includes two study plans, a major and a minor. Thus, the programme will be offered either in the form of a maior plan or in the form of a minor plan, always supplemented by a symmetrical minor or maior plan of another bachelor's study programme with a focus on education for secondary schools (area of Teacher Education). The study in this bachelor programme forms a whole with the follow-up master programme in Teaching for secondary schools and together they are designed as a comprehensive structured study (Bc. + Mgr.), the successful completion of which leads to the qualification of a pedagogical worker - teacher of secondary schools according to Act No. 563/2004 Coll. Both programmes (Bc. + Mgr.) are submitted for accreditation at the same time. The structure of the programmes is consistently based on from the Framework Requirements for Study Programmes leading to professional qualifications for the performance of regulated professions of teaching staff (No. MŠMT-21271/2017-5a). In accordance with the aforementioned Framework Requirements of the Ministry of Education and Science, the Bachelor's study programme Czech Language and Literature with a focus on education for secondary schools includes subjects of subject preparation, as well as the basics of subject didactics, basic disciplines of pedagogical and psychological sciences and a compulsory assistantship, which the student carries out at a selected secondary school. The realized practice is divided between the two disciplinary components (assisting the teacher in teaching the subject) and the pedagogical-psychological basis (assisting in the educational work of the teacher and his/her activities oriented to the management of the pupil and the class collective). The current conception of teacher training is based on the gradual development of individual competences needed to perform the teaching profession. The main objective of the Bachelor's programme in Czech Language and Literature with a focus on Education for Secondary Schools is therefore to prepare and motivate students to enter the follow-up Master's degree in Teacher Education for Secondary Schools and at the same time to emancipate the basic disciplinary, disciplinary-didactic, pedagogical-psychological and personal-social competences necessary for the role of a teacher's assistant, teacher educator and, after completing the follow-up studies, a secondary school teacher.
