The History with a Focus on Education for Secondary Schools program is designed as a symmetrical combined study program that includes two curricula, a major and a minor. Thus, the programme will be offered either as a maior plan or as a minor plan, always supplemented by a symmetrical minor or maior plan of study of another Bachelor's degree programme with a focus on education for secondary schools (area of Teacher Education). The study in this bachelor programme forms a whole with the follow-up master programme Teaching for secondary schools and together they are conceived as a complex structured study (Bc. + Mgr.), the successful completion of which leads to the qualification of a pedagogical worker - a secondary school teacher according to Act No. 563/2004 Coll. The structure of the programmes is consistently based on from the Framework Requirements for Study Programmes leading to professional qualifications for the performance of regulated professions of teaching staff (No. MSMT-21271/2017-5a). In accordance with the aforementioned MSMT Framework Requirements, the Bachelor's degree programme in History with a focus on education for secondary schools includes subjects of subject preparation, as well as the basics of subject didactics, basic disciplines of educational psychology and compulsory assistantship, which the student implements at a selected secondary school. The realized practice is divided between the two disciplinary components (assisting the teacher in teaching the subject) and the pedagogical-psychological basis (assisting in the educational work of the teacher and his/her activities oriented to the management of the pupil and the class collective). The current conception of teacher training is based on the gradual development of individual competences needed to perform the teaching profession. Therefore, the main goal of the Bachelor's programme in History with a focus on secondary school education is to prepare and motivate students to enter the follow-up Master's programme in secondary school teaching and at the same time to emancipate the basic disciplinary, disciplinary-didactic, pedagogical-psychological and personal-social competences necessary for the role of a teacher's assistant, teacher educator and, after completing the follow-up studies, a secondary school teacher.
