Key learning outcomes Doctoral study programme Plant Science is aimed at expanding theoretical and practical knowledge and knowledge of plant production with emphasis on biological, genetic, physiological and ecological aspects of production and on issues related to new concepts of soil care, plant cultivation technologies and quality and processing of plant products. Emphasis is placed on further development and training in critical thinking, the ability to independently and comprehensively analyze scientific information, to design and implement experimental and theoretical work, and to adequately evaluate and publish the results obtained.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples The graduate is prepared for highly qualified work in operations dealing with plant production in a broader sense. The gaduate is employable in professional educational institutions and for scientific work with a focus on plant science and technology, plant breeding and protection, soil science, quality and processing of plant products, etc. The primary employment of graduates is in academic institutions and scientific research entities of applied agricultural research, breeding departments, processing companies or in the state administration or in the control and consulting sphere. The graduate is also employable at the level of senior management in professional organisations and in the corporate and commercial sector related to agricultural and crop production.
