Key learning outcomes
|
The aim of the three-year bachelor's program "Agriculture" (hereinafter the program) is to provide students with comprehensive education and practical knowledge related to agricultural primary production, especially in the areas of crop production, crop protection and livestock. The theoretical foundations of natural and agricultural sciences are followed by professional disciplines, in the form of compulsory, compulsory-elective and optional subjects. The concept of the bachelor's program is based on the requirements of agricultural and processing practice. This is mainly due to the ever-increasing demand for specialized agronomists, zootechnicians and workers in agricultural consulting. An important role in choosing the structure of the program was played by the agri-food focus of the South Bohemian region, where graduates of this study program with their knowledge and skills represent the connection between agricultural production (field crops, livestock), purchase of agricultural products and basic processing processes. Profiling subjects of the study program are plant cultivation, plant nutrition and fertilization, forage production, plant protection, breeding and reproduction of livestock and zoohygiene and prevention of livestock diseases, quality and processing of plant products.
