Key learning outcomes The aim of the doctoral study program Protection of Aquatic Ecosystems is: 1) to develop scientific and analytical thinking and to provide scientific training for experts in the field of environmental chemistry, toxicology, molecular biology, biodiversity, aquatic ecology and related fields of activity; 2) to ensure a sufficient number of scientifically minded experts who will not only scientifically influence the development of the entire aquatic ecosystem protection sector internationally, but will also practically innovate approaches to water use while respecting the principles of long-term sustainability of biodiversity and high water quality.
Specific admission requirements The applicants will be accepted on the basis of an interview.
Specific provisions for recognition of prior learning Citizens of the Czech Republic must provide proof of successful completion of their master degree. Other applicants must comply with the conditions laid down by special legislation for the study of foreign nationals at higher education institutions.
Qualification requirements and regulations For admission no special qualification criteria are to be met. The advantage is knowledge of animal biology, fishery, water ecology, chemistry and English at the level of B2.

Occupational profiles of graduates with examples Graduate of the doctoral study program "Protection of aquatic ecosystems" will be scientifically and analytically minded expert controlling general knowledge in the field of environmental protection, equipped with knowledge of environmental chemistry, toxicology, aquatic ecology and molecular biology.
