Course content
Dimension and structure of the landscape, methods of landscape ecology, the geological structure of the landscape, exogeneous relief processes, geomorphological division of CR, fundamentals of structural geomorphology, soil processes in landscape, biosphere, and landscape, biogeographical division of CR, nature and landscape protection, development of cultural landscape in central Europe, development of settlements, folk architecture - inspiration for the recent creation of rural settlements, the historical development of agriculture and its effect on the origin of the cultural landscape, problems of countryside in CR, forest landscape in CR, pond landscape in CR, industry, and urbanization - effect on the origin of landscape, landscape and recreation, perception and aesthetics of landscape, examples of composed landscapes in CR.

Learning outcomes
The subject aims to get students familiar with the problem of the structure and function of landscape systems and their application in landscape protection. Landscape ecology and care of landscape is subject makes it possible to understand consequences of human activities on the landscape in presence as well as in historical context. The subject gets students familiar with the basic range of problems in the branch of landscape ecology with possible accesses for successful and sensitive incorporation of human activities to landscape environment.
Evaluation of landscape, to project the skelet of the landscape stability, to plan land systems of ecological stability, to manage the method ECOVAST for evaluation of landscape, to determine the landscape format.

Basic knowledge in biology and ecology

Oral examination, Combined exam, Test, Seminar work

Fundamentals of geology, pedology, climatology, ecology, and geography.
