Course content
|
Basis of soil genetics, detailed characteristic of soil-forming process and its influence by a combination of soil-forming factors and conditions. Climate regions. Detailed characterization of part soil-forming processes and of development of soil horizons, soil profile, its stratigraphy, morphology of horizons and their diagnostics. Field research of soils and its documentation. Soil-forming substrata, taxonomic categories of soil classification system of the Czech Republic (Němeček, 2001), reference classes, diagnostics of soil types, subtypes and varieties. Soil types in former Czech classification systems, foreign systems, comparison. Evaluation of soil quality, point evaluation of soils, evaluation of non-production functions of soil. Soil maps, GIS. Land valuation, official and market prices of soils in our country and in EU countries. Value and price of soil in our country and in EU, market prices of soil and their formation, development tendencies of price of soil in our country.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to get and acquire detailed knowledge in problems of soil genetics, systematics, classification and valuation of soils.
The student acquires basic knowledge of classification of the soil environment at Czech and international levels. Further information on the protection of the agricultural land fund and the valuation of non-forest land.

Perfect knowledge of secondary school subject matter.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination
Prerequisites for credit: Processing and presentation of work on given topic. Assessment of attendance at seminars (100%). Final exam (80% correct) or oral exam.
