Course content
Gaining knowledge in the physico-chemical theory of the laws of motion of ions, molecules and water in the soil environment, its characteristics under different conditions and the course of physico-chemical, chemical and biological processes in this environment. Acquisition of knowledge in soil genetics, systematics, classification and valuation of soils. Basics of soil genetics, detailed characteristics of the soil-forming process and its regulation by combinations of soil-forming factors and conditions. Climate regions. Detailed characteristics of partial soil-forming processes and development of genetic horizons, soil profile, its stratigraphy, morphology of horizons and their diagnostics. Field survey of soils and its documentation. Soil-forming substrates, taxonomic categories of the soil classification system of the Czech Republic. Reference classes, diagnostics of soil types, subtypes and varieties. Soil types in earlier Czech classification systems, foreign systems, comparison. Bonitation of soils, point evaluation of soils, evaluation of non-productive functions of soils.
