Course content
1. Introduction - science, scientific works 2. Bachelor thesis - assignment, requirements, content and requisites, method of elaboration 3. Defining goals, creating hypotheses 4. Information retrieval 5. Professional literature (printed) 6. Scientific databases 7. Citation standards 8. Principles of writing literary research 9. Profit, analysis and interpretation of results 10. Creating a discussion 11. Formulation of work conclusions 12. Making a presentation 13. Principles of correct presentation of final theses 14. Student presentations and discussions

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
  • Class attendance - 16 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 30 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The seminar introduces the basic principles of writing final qualification theses to students. Students will work independently on the assigned work, while they will actively discuss the correctness of the chosen procedures in writing this work with the teacher.
Students can search for and process information competently. They can create their hypotheses, formulate goals and results of the work, describe the methodology of the practical part of the bachelor's thesis. They know the principle of creating a discussion in a professional text. Graduates of the course are ready to create and defend a bachelor's thesis.
Prerequisites
Independence, ability to work creatively with the text.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills, Systematic student observation, Seminar work

Active participation in the seminars. Writing of a short literary review. Presentation of preliminary results of bachelor thesis.
