Course content
|
Thematic units: Functions of agriculture in the landscape, production and non-production functions, environment as a means of production, regional and alternative food production, use of renewable and non-renewable resources of raw materials and energy, environmental functions - absorption of negative externalities of production, aesthetic, historical, cultural, educational, recreational, hygienic - therapeutic, securitization, social. Seminar topics: Rural entrepreneurship - Diversification of production focus Support of small and start-up entrepreneurs, social entrepreneurship, rural heritage, EU rural development programs (ROP, ESF, RDP), human resources in rural areas, employment, access to lifelong learning , community life in the countryside, cooperation inside and outside the community, associations, rural tradition

Learning outcomes
|
Learning outcomes of the course unit The objective is to acquaint students with the requirements of the society for sustainable rural development, forms of adaptation of agriculture to environmental conditions, supporting the development of rural regions, especially in areas with significant share of agriculture and low population density through the development of alternative economic activities and creation of additional resources for maintaining employment and economical exploitation resources.
After completing the course, the student is able to decide on the forms of diversification of agricultural and other activities in the rural landscape in accordance with its environmental, economic and social limits, using the comparative advantages of the region.

Prerequisites
|
General knowledge of science subjects at high school and newly at ZFJU, botany, agriculture.

Credit Requirements: Participation in consultations, elaboration and presentation of seminar work individually or in pairs Examination Requirements: Written test (80% of successful completion), analysis of incomplete or incomplete answers, oral exam
