Course content
Improving the knowledge of PhD students in the basics of analytical chemistry and Gaining an overview of modern techniques used in analytical chemistry. Errors of chemical analyzes, expression of results. Evaluation of results of instrumental methods. Sensitivity of devices. Limits of determination. Matrix effects and their compensation. Equilibria of proteolytic, complexing, redox equilibria in solutions of sparingly soluble compounds. Chromatographic methods. Principle of chromatographic methods, their division. Liquid chromatography. Theoretical foundations, distribution constant, efficiency of chromatographic process and its expression. Principles of gas chromatography. Optical methods of chemical analysis. General principles, components of optical instruments. Emission spectral analysis, principles, use in practice. Absorption methods. Absorption spectrophotometry in the field of visible and ultraviolet radiation. Infrared spectrometry. Mass spectrometry. Electroanalytical methods. Potentiometric methods, ion selective electrodes, their construction and use. Voltammetric dissolution polarography. Electromigration methods. Electrophoresis, basic principles, working technique, devices. Isotachophoresis, principles, instrumentation.
