Course content
Sustainable development - terminology, content, basis dimension of sustainability, policy of sustainable development, sustainable farming in the rural countryside, agroecosystems, sustainable farming, farming systems executed on agricultural land, productive and non-productive functions of agriculture, instruments of susatainable development, indicators of evaluation and support of non-productive functions.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
  • Preparation for classes - 28 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 14 hours per semester
  • Semestral paper - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the subject is to acquaint students with principles of sustainable management in the basic spheres of human activity with specification in the field of agriculture.
After completing the subject, the student is able to decide on methods of sustainable life in agricultural area
Prerequisites
General knowledge of science subjects at high school and newly at ZFJU, botany, agriculture.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam, Seminar work

Exam requirements: elaboration and presentation of the seminar paper individually or in pairs, written test (80% of points - successful completion), analysis of incomplete or incorrect answers, oral exam
