Learning outcomes
|
The course seeks to develop a better understanding of political, social and cultural processes in contemporary Britain. The use of authentic multimedia material designed to provide a variety of information and perspective on the current events in British society also gives students opportunities to develop their critical interpretation and communication skills. Lectures introducing particular topics and issues are followed by seminars focused on critical discussion and analysis.
Growing insight into political, social and cultural issues characterising contemporary Britain with regard to previous historical developments.

Prerequisites
|
Instruction in English. Preparation for seminar, incl. reading of set texts, active participation in seminar, presentation on chosen topic.
