Course content
1) characteristics of young language learners 2) mother tongue acquisition 3) learning a second language 4) learning styles and strategies 5) accounting for differences between learners (age, motivation) 6) methods of teaching foreign languages Topics 1 and 6 will be covered in lessons. Support materials for the remaining themes are available on eAMOS.

Learning outcomes
The objectives of the course are - to develop an understanding of the basic principles and methods of language teaching; - to become aware of the characteristics and specific needs of learners aged 5-12; - to familiarize the trainees with ways of managing the classroom and creating a stimulating environment.
The students will be familiar with basic theoretical principles underlying the teaching of English to young learners.

basic ability to read methodological texts in English

Test

All examinations and consultations are held in English. a written test with a 70% passmark
