Learning outcomes
The course focuses on the differences between the English and Czech grammar systems on all linguistic levels - morphological, syntactic, lexical and stylistic. The emphasis is put on the practical acquisition of the following linguistic phenomena: Substantives - Number, Countability, Determination, Gender, Case; Adjectives - Comparison; Pronouns - Personal, Possesive, Reflexive, Demonstrative, Interogative, Relative, Indefinite; Numerals - Cardinal, Ordinal. The seminar focuses on practical presentation of the grammatical structures on authentic texts and real situations. Grammar is practised in a wide range of activities such as games, discussions and problem solving.

All examinations and consultations are held in English. A written test with a 70% passmark, attendance 70%
