Course content
1. Prepositions. 2. Conjunctions 3. Phrasal verbs 4. Word order 5. Word formation

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Demonstration, Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
The course focuses on the differences between the English and Czech grammar systems on all linguistic levels - morphological, syntactic, lexical and stylistic. The emphasis is put on the practical acquisition of the following linguistic phenomena: Prepositons; Prepositional Phrases of Substantives, Adjectives and Verbs; Conjunction; Interjection;Wordformation. The seminar focuses on practical presentation of the grammatical structures on authentic texts and real-life situations. Grammar is practised in a wide range of activities such as games, discussions and problem soleving.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Student portfolio analysis, Test

All examinations and consultations are held in English. Written test with 70% passmark, oral exam, attendance 70%. Completing a portfolio of ELT activities, games and exercises focusing on the English preposition, conjunction and syntax.
