Learning outcomes
The course focuses on the differences in the English and Czech grammar systems on all linguistic levels - morphological, syntactic, lexical and stylistic. The emphasis is put on the practical acquisition of the following linguistic phenomena: Prepositions, Conjunctions, Phrasal Verbs, Word Order, Parts of the Sentence, Subordinate Clauses, Register. The seminar focuses on practical presentation of the grammatical structures on authentic texts and real situations. Grammar is practised in a wide range of activities such as games, discussions and problem solving.
A practical knowledge of English parts of the sentence, compound and complex sentence, subordinate clauses, basis of hypersyntax, wordformation and register

Oral examination, Written examination

All examinations and consultations are held in English. Active participation in the seminar, obtaining a pass in 2 in-course tests.
