Learning outcomes
The course introduces students into selected issues of English linguistics, chosen for their interesting aspects as well as their value in practical usage of the language. It covers questions of hypersyntax, syntax, pragmatics, word formation, lexical semantics, and historical development.
A practical knowledge of basic terms of linguistics, acquisition of its main fields
