Course content
Lectures: Basic characteristics of wetlands, main types of wetlands in CR (peatlands, lotic and lenitic wetlands, human-made wetlands) . Adaptations of plants, invertebrates and vertebrates to conditions in wetlands and shallow waters, primary production and its use in the ecosystems, biodiversity, interrelationships between humans and wetlands. Practicals: Excursion to selected types of near-natural and human-made wetlands

Learning outcomes
Acquaint students with key characteristics and functions aóf wetlan ecosystems and their various types
Knowledge of general characteristics and functions of wetlands, overview of main wetland types
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of biology and ecology

Combined exam

Individual study of information sources, presence at practicals, fulfilment of practical tasks
