Lectures: 1. Short history of the State and administration; 2. Mail concepts of public administration, public administration and division of power; 3. Regions and regionalization, regional aspects of European integration; 4. Institutional basis for regional development; 5. Transformation of the Czech state administration; 6. Territorial public administration reform; 7. Minicipal constitution; 8. Regional constitution; 9. Public finance and control system, public services; 10. International cooperation of the ČR in public administration agenda; 11. Public administration and regional development; 12. Local and regional communities in the European administration area; 13. Public administration and civic society; 14. Multilevel governance; Seminars: 1. Czech Republic and EU, presidency 2009; 2. Public administration portals, Golden Crest, Village of the Year etc.; 3. Strategy of regional development of ČR (2007-2013); 4. Government of the Czech Republic, institutions, advisory and working bodies; 5. Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the essence of the existence of public administration, the formation of institutional prerequisites for regional development and the role of public administration in supporting regional development.
Students will understand the relationship within the triad and will be able to coordinate their activities with municipal authorities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Credit Requirements: Paper and its presentation in seminar. Written test. Examination Requirements: Oral examination.
