Course content
Topics: Sources of scientific information. Citation of literature. Literary research. Use of statistics in data processing. Preparation of tables and graphs. Writing a bachelor's and master's thesis - basic structure. Writing and evaluation of scientific work. Writing grant projects and applications for support. Curriculum vitae and job application. Preparation of a lecture, structured abstract and conference poster. Presentation technique, computer use, data projection. Oral presentation.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
  • Preparation for exam - 40 hours per semester
  • Class attendance - 28 hours per semester
  • Preparation for classes - 50 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
To teach students the basic skills needed for the preparation of Bc. and MSc. theses
Basic skills for the the search and sorting of scientific information, presentation of numeric data and scientific writing for the purpose of Bc. or MSc. theses
Prerequisites
Assigned topic of the bachelor thesis.

Written examination
