    | Content of tutorials/seminar: After introductory presentations on selected current research topic given by the lecturers, the course will be run as a Journal club. Students will present recent scientific papers based on their own choice and approved by the lecturer. All presentations will be followed by a discussion.

            | The course will familiarise the students with current topics in ecosystem biology research, swith emphasis on processes in soil and aquatic ecocystems. It aims to develop the following key skills: to critically assess, present to others and interpret the conclusions of scientific studies, and to discuss their relevance in a wider context of basic and applied research. The course is intended primarily for the students of the Masters programme of Ecosystem Biology.

            | unspecified Regular active presence (at least 75% of seminars). Students will prepare a visual presentation of selected papers and at the end write an essay summarizing 1-2 papers discussed during the seminars.
