Course content
Content of lectures: 1.-2.Sources of drinking water, treatment of drinking water including securing of hygienic standards 3.-4. Collection and treatment of waste waters, types of waste water treatments, separation of nutrients from waste water, sludge treatment 5.-7. Agricultural technologies in connection with soil protection 8.-9. Production of solid waste with the stress on municipal and wraps waste, their material and energetic use and landiffilng including impacts on environment, modern technologies in environmetal protection 10.-12. Energetic sources, energetics and energetic mix in CZ, energy production using fossil fuels, renewable resources and nuclear power, impacts on the environment 13.Student prezentations - actual news in technologies in environmental protection Content of practices: Practics are in the form of two all-day excursions to chosen plants/companies.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Projection, Excursion

Learning outcomes
The aims are to learn the principles and the facture of environmental technologies used for land reclamation and for the mitigation of environmental damages caused by human activities, which are applied in the fields of water and waste managements, energetics, and soil or air protection.
understanding of technologies used in preparation of drinking water, waste and waste-water treatment, information about energy feedstocks mining and production of electricity Knowledge about enviromental impacts of above-mentioned technologies, minimalization of the impacts on environment overview of the strategic documents, aims and law in the given areas of activities
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge in chemistry and principles of environmetal protection

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Combined exam

Successful completion of the course is based on: - passing a written test with at least 50% correct answers - presentations and discussions of news in the field of environmental technologies (according to the student's choice) - by presence on two practical excursions to places (plants, factories, areas) related to the subject matter
