Course content
Content of lectures: Content of practices: 1) Capturing small mammals - comparison of capture methods 2) Capturing fishes - comparison of capture methods 3) Mapping birds - comparison of mapping methods 4) Experiments - birds - antipredatory behaviour (case study) 5) Amphibians - capture metods and lecture on species ecology

Learning outcomes
The aim is to train the students in various methodological approches in animal ecology. Tasks are chosen to cover broader spectrum of animals (insects, fishes, amphibians, birds, mammals) and cover basic methods. The trainings are realized in the field.
The will be experienced in application of basich methods in the field of Animal Ecology. They will also enhance their ability to interpret their results.
Prerequisites
The course is a field practical to the course KBE / 124 - Ecology of Animals

Assessment methods and criteria
Development of laboratory protocols

To pass the course is conditioned by presence of student at field experiments. The students should also create protocols from field work.
