Course content
Part-time:Methodological system ofthe subject. Outlining the preparation for classes in reading and literary education in forms 2 - 5. Working with a text in a reader. Diagnostics of reading. Imagery of a literary text. Specific methodology of work with the main genres of children's literature: fairytale; adventure story about children; poetry. Independent study (c.50 hours): Primary pupils' abilities in literary education. The class structure in the first form of basic school.Outlining the preparation for classes in reading and literary education in forms 2 - 5. Working with a text in a reader. Introducing pupils into the text. Preparing for the text interpretation.Kinds and quality of reading. Methods of their developing in forms 2 - 5 of basic school.Common reading of books in class. Readers' diaries. Mastering poetical texts. Reading aloud and reciting.Working with a character.Dialoguing and dramatisation of a text in a reader. Creative drama.Working out a plan and rehearsing a performance. Designing the composition of a text (fairytale, poem). Technical teaching aids used in reading lessons and literary education. Contemporary alternative readers.

Learning outcomes
The course is focused on current needs and issues of methodological practice. Its aim is to deepen the previous knowledge of theory and relate it liberally to the practical needs of actual teachers. Special emphasis is placed on an individual and creative approach to particular literary texts.
Mastering the skill of creative work with particular literary texts, based on theory related to practice.
Active application the ability of metodological praxis.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test, Seminar work

Evaluating and surveying the student's practical preparation for the lesson in reading and literature in forms 2-5 focused on using various genres and types of texts in school readers. A knowledge written test Tasks for independent study: The study of professional and methodological literature will enable the student to work out a detailed plan for an exemplary lesson in reading and literature at primary level of basic school, aimed at various genres and types of reading texts. Studying professional and methodological literature with respect to the themes included in the subjekt. Completion requirements: Credits will be given for a knowledge test and a discussion about individual lesson plans. Individual consultations are provided in person or by e-mail.
