Course content
Part-time: Spelling and correctional practice. Revision - spelling exercises. Independent study (c. 20 hours): The theory of graphic system; the importance of orthography. The Rules of Czech Orthography 1993 and Suppplement. Lexical orthograpy. Morphological orthography. Syntactical orthography. The spelling of compound words and expresssions. Capitalisation. Punctuation marks. Punctuating simple and complex sentences.

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Written action (comprehensive tests, clauses)
Learning outcomes
The seminar oves a knowledge of the Czech orthographical system and some skills needed for correction of text created by one´s own.
Practising the ability to apply orthography in creating a text and to make a language correction of a text.
Prerequisites
Basic a knowledge of the Czech orthographical system and some skills needed for correction of text.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's language skills, Interview

Individual study of the Rules of Czech orthography; writing specific dictations.
