Course content
1.Introductory lesson - information on the relevant bibliography. Defining academi style. 2.,3. The structure and components of scientific/scholarly texts. 4.,5. Linguistic and stylistic characteristics of scientific/scholarly texts. 5. General principles of publishing ethics. 6.,7. Using sources. Quotation norms. 8. Presenting literary research. 9., 10. Supplementary materials (notes, appendices, illustrations, etc.). 11. Punctuation. 12.,13. Typography and editing. 14. Evaluating the students' assignments; credit acknowledgement.

Learning outcomes
The course will provide an introduction into general principles of writing scholarly or scientific texts, with special attention being given to stylistic aspects of academic papers, to presenting literary research, and to bibliographical rules.
On completion, the student will be able to produce an academic text independently, complying with the requirements for objectivity and formal arrangement, seeking and properly quoting relevant literature, and formatting the text.

The student will produce a scholarly article on a chosen theme.
