Learning outcomes
The course is necessary for the qualified fulfillment of one of the general objectives of education, ie ensuring the safety and health of pupils (School Act, Act No. 561/2004 Coll., § 2, Art. 2). The object of educational process (schoolchild) is presented as a bio-psycho-social individual with spiritual overlap. The necessary theoretical background of the biological field (physical anthropology) is demonstrated. The course includes basic chapters of human anatomy and physiology, topics of health prevention and first aid, the most frequent pathologies in organ systems, lifestyle diseases in context, the concept of physical and mental hygiene, biological background of compulsive behavior. Physical ontogenetic development of man is discussed with emphasis on school age. Theoretical and practical training of first aid for teachers are given in a one-day course under the guidance of an experienced healthcare professional (or first aid instructor).
Knowledge of essentials of human biology and first aid provides a theoretical background of professional qualification for educational process. Knowledge of human biology with consideration of health prevention is meaningful for school practice in general.
