Course content
1. Introduction. Evolution of animal physiological functions. Functions of the body fluids, functions of the blood. 2. Body fluids circulation, fundamentals functional principles of the animal circulatory systems. Function of the human cardiovascular system. 3. Breathing of animals in different environments. Breathing of human, physiology of the respiratory system. 4. Ingestion and processing of food. Functions of the human digestive system. 5. Fundaments of metabolism (nutrients metabolism, global energy metabolism, hormonal regulations, functions of the liver). 6. Homeostasis. Principles of excretion and function of the excretion organs. Functions of the kidneys and nefron. 7. Principles of osmoregulation, impact various environments on osmoregulation. 8. Thermoregulation. Ectothermy, endothermy, poikilothermy, homoiothermy. 9. Hormonal regulations, principles of the hormonal regulations. Functions of the endocrine glands and its regulations. 10. Neurophysiology, electrical activities of the neurons. Principles of activities of the nervous system. 11. Neural regulations, functions of the nervous system. Functions of the vegetative nervous system and regulations of the activities of muscular system. 12. Physiology of the muscular tissues. 13. Physiology of the sensoric organs. Principles of the receptors activities, classification and types of receptors. The sensoric organs based on chemoreceptors. 14. The sensoric organs based on photoreceptors and mechanoreceptors.

Learning outcomes
Functions of the body fluids and circulatory systems. Breathing in different environments and breathing of human. Ingestion and processing of food, fundaments of metabolism. Osmoregulation, excretion, thermoregulation. Hormonal and neural regulations. Physiology of sensoric organs and muscular tissues. These themes respect evolutionary aspect and functional principles for the teaching of sciences at secondary schools.
Students get acquainted with the basic animal and human physiology and will get the necessary theoretically knowledge and practical skills for transformation into the didactical system of education in science.

Oral examination, Student performance assessment

Evolution of animal physiology functions. Fundamentals physiology principles. Knowledge of human physiology - vegetative and regulation systems. Practical laboratory course - laboratory methods and experiments.
