Course content
Introduction, general terms. Cells, their structure, chemical composition, processes. Structure and function of proteins. DNA, RNA. New apporach of genomics connecting genetics, biochemistry, proteomics, physiology, biometrics, quantitative genetics. The genomes of viruses and viroids, procaryotes, eucaryotes. Evolution from the genomics point of view. Evolution of nucleic acids, genetic code. Structural genomics, bioinformatics, functional genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, comparative genomics, pharmakogenomics, nutrigenomics. Genomics in human medicine. Genomic selection.

Learning outcomes
The goal is to educate the students in regulation of biological processes on the genome level.
To get the genomic approach in solving of the genetic problems. To obtain general knowledge in genomic disciplines. Widen knowledges used in genomics.
