Course content
1. Introduction into the subject 2. Universal classification of organisms Archea, Bacteria - Cyanobacteria, Eukaryota - Protozoa, Plantae, Chromista 3. Algae as a biological group. Phylogenesis and classification Protozoa - Chlorarachniophyta, Euglenophyta, Dinophyta Chromista - Cryptistae - Cryptophyta Chromobiotae- Heterokontophyta, Haptophyta Plantae: Biliphytae - Glaucophyta, Rhodophyta Viridiplantae - Chlorophyta, Charophyta. 4. Fungi and fungal organisms as a biological group. Phylogenesis and classification Protozoa - Acrasiomycota, Myxomycota, Plasmodiophoromycota Chromista - Labirinthulomycota, Oomycota, Hyphochytriomycota Fungi: Chytridiomycota , Zygomycota, Ascomycota, Basidiomycota Lichenes as an ecological group Deuteromycota

Learning outcomes
Theoretical knowledge of Thallobionta principle taxonomical groups and their evolution. Accented to detailed characteristic of didactically, economically and ecologically important taxa (parasitic taxa, function of algae and saprophytes in substance cycle in nature, utilization for human). Training focused on practical determination of algae and lichens, encompassment of biological drawing technique, working with field guide of algae and usage of microscopic technique. Volume: Structure of Thallobionta and mycetes, phylogenesis and taxonomy. Cyanobacteria, Rhodophyta, Dinophyta, Cryptophyta, Chromophyta, Euglenophyta, Chlorophyta, Charophyta.. Myxomycota, Plasmodiophoromycota, Perenosporomycota, Chytridiomycota, Zygomycota, Ascomycota, Basidiomycota, Lichenes.
Theoretical and practical knowledge of important taxa of algae and mycetes, their importance in the nature and for human, their position in the trophic chain. Practical skills in collection and determination of taxa.

Student performance assessment, Interview, Combined exam

80% attendance at seminars, 60% pass rate in the tests, theoretical knowledge in the classification of lower plants
