Course content
Goals and tasks in natural science education at basic school Curriculum of Natural science at basic school, utilization of science and education books. Didactic rules and teaching instruction. Teaching methods- monologic methods, discussion methods Scientific methods in science education- observation, experiments Evaluation methods in education process Worksheets in natural science education- creation of worksheets and drawings Organization of education process- lessons, excursions Teaching aids and their utilization in education process Evaluation tests- creation of tests Preparing of school lessons, excursion, and laboratory exercise

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
Acquiring knowledge in curriculum and instruction of Natural science: 1. Goals and tasks in natural science education at basic school 2. Didactic rules, organization of education, teaching methods, aids, evaluation methods 3. Application of teaching methods in natural science education, creation of worksheets and drawings, creation of evaluation tests 4. Excursion and laboratory exercise, laboratory instruction and procedure 5. Preparing of school lessons (organization, teaching methods, aids and procedures)
1. Students get basic ability for teaching natural science at basic school 2. Students will understand goals and content of natural science curriculum 3. Getting knowledge will be fundamental presumption for pedagogical training at school 4. Students are able to prepare school lessons, excursion, and laboratory exercise

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment

Knowledge in curriculum of Natural science at basic school and understanding didactic rules and teaching instructions and their utilization in education process. Students master creation of working sheets, tests, didactic drawings and teaching aids. Students are able to prepare and organize laboratory exercise, excursion and teaching lessons. All materials related to the lessons of science didactics (e.g. seminar theses and essays, projects, literature reviews etc.) are summed at the preservice teacher's portfolio which reflects professional skills and experience.
