Course content
The seminar succeeds the lecture and it is focused on the transformation of the theoretical knowledge in biology into the didactic system in the primary school. Students make seminar project. The aims of this project are: - Literature search which is oriented on the development of the scientific background in biology. - Work with the living things - methods of the observation and demonstration, knowledge in selected living things. - Relevant terminology. - Didactic applications of theoretical knowledge. - Knowledge in selected living things.

Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Monitoring, Skills training, Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
Application of the science background in the education area Humans and their Wold and cross-curricular theme Environmental Education. Seminars are connected to the subjects Humans and their world I and II. They are designed for the transformation of the theoretical science knowledge to the didactic system of science education at primary school regard to current trends in education (e.g. constructivism, inquiry science education).
Graduate is competent to transformation of teoretical knowledge about nature to the didactic system at primary school
Prerequisites
Knowledge in theoretical background within subjets Humans and their world I and II.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Didactic test

Application of theoretical knowledge in the life sciences teaching at primary school - seminar project. Recognition of selected living and nonliving thinks (plants, animals, minerals, rocks). All materials related to the lessons of science didactics (e.g. seminar theses and essays, projects, literature reviews etc.) are summed at the preservice teacher's portfolio which reflects professional skills and experience.
