Course content
1. Water as specific environment: light and temperature 2. Water as specific environment: chemism I 3. Water as specific environment: chemism II 4. Stable waters : pelagial, benthal, profundal 5. Communities of stable waters : benthos, plankton, neuston, nekton; 6. Astatic and saline waters, marshies and hot springs 7. Running waters: organsism adaptations 8. Running waters: river continuum 9. Communities of running waters: reobenthos, plankton, hyporheos 10. Communities in longitudinal profile: crenon, rithron, potamon 11. Changes in running waters: floods, dry, etc. 12. Contamination and eutrofization of waters 13. Saprobity 14. Principles of water cleaning

To get principles of knowledge on water environment and water organisms.
To apply gained knowledge for demonstration of relationships in water ecosystems in sciences education at secondary school.

Didactic test

Brief overview of knowledge of water bodies typology and their chemical and physical atributes. Brief overview of selected groups of water animals and their biology.
