Course content
1. Medicinal and toxic plants - effects, drugs, allergy, cultivation. 2. Crop-plants and viands production. Cultivation areas in the Czech Republic. Classification of crop-plants. Cultivation of fruit plants, harvest, storage and fruit treatment. Weeds. Plant diseases and pests. Plant protection. Alternative methods of cultivation. 3. Aims, curriculum and methods of Cultivation Work at primary school. Basic experiments and observation - design and evaluation. Demonstration of plant living manifestation and plant physiology. Excursions. Preparation of instruction. 4. Model plants. Collections of plants, grains and seed corns. Integration of Cultivation Work into the educational area. Humans and the World of Work and cross-curricular subject Environmental Education.

Learning outcomes
To obtain of basic knowledge and competencies in the undermentioned domains: Medicinal and toxic plants - effects, drugs, allergy, cultivation. Crop-plants and viands production. Classification of crop-plants. Cultivation of fruit plants, harvest, storage and fruit treatment. Weeds. Plant diseases and pests. Plant protection. Alternative methods of cultivation. Aims, curriculum and methods of Cultivation Work at primary school. Basic experiments and observation - design and evaluation. Demonstration of plant living manifestation and plant physiology. Excursions. Preparation of instruction. Model plants. Collections of plants, grains and seed corns. Integration of Cultivation Work into the educational area. Students are able to teaching in the school gardens. The students will specialize in skills of plants cultivation.

Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's work activities (technical works), Interview

Skills for resource and organization of instruction of Cultivation Work at primary school. Essential knowledge of cultivation of vegetable, ornamental and medicinal plants.
