Course content
This course is focused on the obtaining of the knowledge in biology and ecology of organisms. Students work in the small groups. They observe and study living things in their natural environment. The students are acquainted with basic methods of the gathering, preparation and conservation of material and some living things.

Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Monitoring, Demonstration, Skills training, Activating (simulations, games, drama)
Learning outcomes
Acquirement and improvement of practical knowledge of living thinks with their ecology. Basic methods of collection, preparation and determination of living thinks in relation to teaching at primary school. Teaching methods for field practice in nature science at primary school. Methods for cross-curricular subject Environmental education.
After completion of the field practice student should be able to recognize and demonstrate selected living things, he(she) has knowledge, skills and competences to apply principles and methods of environmental education.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Didactic test

Elaboration of protocols from field practice, recognition of selected species of living things and recognition of selected minerals and rocks. All materials related to the course (e.g. essays, projects, literature reviews, protocols, notes about out-off-school activities, photo documentation, etc.) are summed at the preservice teacher's portfolio which reflects professional skills and experience.
