Course content
Theoretical information about selected teaching methods and forms considered as current and innovative trends to biology education, including specific examples. Understanding of historical development selected methods and forms, acquirement of their principles and understanding of their possibilities and limits. The accent is put on the practical students' activity - own proposal of activities and their implementation into the practice under the supervision of didactics. Discussion about the created materials.

Learning outcomes
The subject is focused on broadening of continuous teacher's training. Students will solve practical questions related to Biology didactics at elementary schools. They will design own activity or task under the supervision of didactics from the department and the activity or task will be performed at the elementary school collaborating with the Department of Biology. The student will learn how to prepare tasks (e.g. with respect to principles of inquiry-based scientific teaching, problem solving or other innovative teaching forms and methods used at current Biology didactics).
student acquire knowledge and skills for prepapration and implementation of selected teaching methods and forms in biologie lessons - students is able to use different teaching methods and activities in education process or in out-of-school settings - student is able to organize inquiry-based teaching, group activities and use activating and discussion methods - student is able to solve all requirements of science education (realted to National Framework Documents)

Assessment methods and criteria
Colloquium

- Students' attendance to seminars (min. 80 %) - Implementation of own activity with pupils at selected elementary school - Evaluation of implementation of the activity during colloquium
