Course content

The Sensory System. 10. The Endocrine System. 11.-12. The Human Ontogeny. 13.-14. The Occupational and School Hygiene. The Lifestyle Diseases. The Prevention. Course Essentials of the First Aid.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces the fundamental theoretical background to human biology for students of Special education of preschool age - Kindergarten teaching and Special Pedagogy - Tutorship. The human functional anatomy and physiology, the health prevention and the first aid, the ontogeny with emphasis on preschool aged children, the most frequent pathologies, the lifestyle diseases, the drug prevention and the occupational and school hygiene form the scope of the course. Theoretical and practical training of the first aid with medics in 1-day course is also a part of the course.
Knowledge of essentials of human biology and first aid provides a theoretical background of professional qualification for educational process. Knowledge of human biology with consideration of health prevention is meaningful for school practice in general.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student performance assessment, Interview, Systematic student observation

Knowledge of the human functional anatomy and physiology, the ontogeny (preschool age particularly), the hygiene and the health prevention. Theoretical and practical knowledge of the first aid.
