Course content
Content of the seminar (all applicable to biology education): Entry information. Communicative competence of science and the problem of translating results into education (quantity, selection, motivation, visualization - range of solutions). The current situation regarding problems in education of various age groups and biology popularization (pre-school and third level education (goals and processes of their achievement). Wording of the cardinal problems of biology education in the country and abroad. Approaches to problem solving of biology education in German and English speaking countries and in the Czech Republic.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book)
Learning outcomes
1) To inform students of a) the current situation regarding problem solving in the area of biology education and b) related topics that worldwide research is focused on. 2) To obtain a comprehensive knowledge, to be able to formulate a research problem and to be able of critical analysis. 3) To create a comparative view of biology education on the Czech Republic in the light of problems being researched abroad.
