Content of practices: Microcopy Theory - Physical foundations of microscopy, types of microscopes. Light microscope construction, microscopy procedure. Properties of microscopic objects, microscopic preparations. Documentation of microscopic objects. Measuring and counting microscopic objects. Contrast enhancement methods. The tasks are focused on practicing the material discussed (working with a stereomicroscope and a classical microscope, adjusting Koehler lighting, documentation, simple staining, microscopy with immersion, comparison of plant and animal tissues). Molecular biology Polymerase chain reaction and electrophoresis Phylogenetic analysis Basics of working with DNA sequences, alignment, interpretation of the phylogenetic tree
