Content of practicals: The practicals will be realized as a five-day block excursion to a particular mountain base. They will be composed of half-day or full-day excursions, oriented to partial topics. The plant material that is not identifiable in the field will be determined after the excursions. Another part of non-excursion activities will include short lectures about the abiotic (geology, geomorphology, climate) and biotic part of the region, partly in co-operation with local specialists.

Getting familiar with the plant diversity and function of alpine ecosystems on the example of individual organism groups in the particular mountain region. The leaver will be able to recognize the dominant and ecologically or phytogeographically important species of vascular plants, bryophytes, lichens, algae and cyanobacteria, will be able to identify functionally and important and shape-giving plant communities. Basic information will be provided about interactions with other abiotic and biotic components of alpine ecosystems.
Recognition of dominant and ecologically or phytogeographically important species of vascular plants, bryophytes and lower plants. Identification of functionally important and shape-giving plant communities. Knowledge of interactions between abiotic and biotic components of alpine ecosystems.
