Course content
Content of lectures: 1.-3. Abiotic and biotic factors driving plant distribution, history of Central European flora and vegetation, plant migration, floristic elements in the Central European vascular plants, relic and endemic taxa. 4.-12. Regional phytogeography of the Czech Republic

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
  • Class attendance - 26 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 50 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course aims to give an understanding of principles of phytogeography and information about history of Central European flora and vegetation. Regional phytogeography of the Czech Republic is presented.
Understanding of environmental and historical factors determining present flora and vegetation of Central Europe. Regional Phytogeography of the Czech Republic.

Courses KBO/138 and KBO/139 or course KBO/132

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination

Basic knowledge about diversity and vegetation history of Central Europe. Knowledge about diversity of selected region and its sources.
