Course content
In relation to the topic of the doctoral thesis according to the methodology of the doctoral thesis, the requirements of the supervisor.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to expand knowledge of the basics of biochemistry for application in specialized areas of the field. Issues of basic and applied enzymology, primary and selected secondary metabolic processes (glycolysis, gluconeogenesis, pentose cycle, photosynthesis, polysaccharide metabolism, citrate cycle, respiratory chain, synthesis and degradation of higher fatty acids, lipid metabolism, metabolism of amino acids and other nitrogenous substances, metabolism of important secondary metabolites). Nucleic acid metabolism in relation to protein synthesis (replication, transcription, translation). Regulatory mechanisms of organisms.
The student can independently navigate in the given issue and is able to use the acquired knowledge in their scientific activities or other practice.
Prerequisites
The student is familiar with the issues within the scope of university studies and is willing to study independently.
