Course content
Lectures: 1. The composition and structure of matter, the periodic system of elements. 2. Construction of substances, chemical bond and weak binding interactions. 3. Chemical action, types of chemical reactions. 4. Reaction kinetics and energetics of chemical reactions. 5. The chemical balance, the balance in the different reactions. 6. Solutions, reactions in electrolyte solutions. 7. Hydrogen and oxygen, chemistry of water. 8. Chemistry of p-elements with non-metallic character. 9. The atmosphere, the composition and the importance emissions. 10. Metals, properties and production, s-elements. 11. Chemistry of p-metal nature, d-elements. 12. The composition, properties and overview of organic compounds 1. 13. The composition, properties and overview of organic compounds 2. 14. Macromolecular substances, biopolymers. Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to educate the students in general fundamentals of chemistry with orientation on utilisation of the knowledge of chemistry in further study. During laboratory practice will students develop and strengthen practical skills and verify their theoretical knowledge.
Graduates will receive a basic knowledge of the theory of chemical disciplines and practical laboratory skills.

Basic knowledge of chemistry.
