Course content
1. Definition of individual social work history, intervention, social functioning, primary contact. 2. Social worker-client relationship and its specifics, code of ethics and its meaning. 3. Communication with the client, the client as an expert on his/her problem, the interview (preparation, conduct, course and termination of the interview, types of questions). Motivational interviewing. 4. Stages of individual social work (types of medical history, social history, social assessment/diagnosis, social assessment/diagnosis, social work, social work, social work, social work, social work, social work, social work). Learning outcomes
The course aims to introduce students to social work with individuals in as close and detailed a manner as possible. The seminars aim to define and understand the basic concepts of case-based social work, where the student learns selected concepts, stages, techniques and approaches of working with clients. During the seminars, students reflect on the experience gained in professional practice. The student will consolidate the following professional knowledge and skills in the course: - establishing a relationship with a client - first contact - communication with the client - the individual social work phase.
The student will understand the development of individual social work. The student can approach a client, establish contact with him/her and arrange a personal contract.
Prerequisites
Before entering the course, the student should be able to take the course Theoretical Foundations of Social Work (KCHP/KTVSP) and be able to define the field of social work, its objectives and basic concepts of social work.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Interview, Seminar work

- attendance - 1 absence allowed - studying the compulsory literature - elaboration of a specific individual plan (hereinafter referred to as IP) with the client (the topic is chosen by the student) - passing the credit in the form of an oral examination For the oral examination, the student brings the developed IP with the client, where he/she demonstrates that he/she can apply the theoretical knowledge to specific practical activities. Developing an individual plan (hereinafter referred to as IP) with the client. The student chooses any client, from any area of social work, describes his/her life situation, and outlines the problem and the solution procedure. The student defines what an IP is. The student is able to present a reason for creating an IP with a client. The student brings the developed IP for credit, where it is evaluated and discussed on the chosen topic. During the oral interview, the examiner may get into various questions related to the material covered in the Social Work Casework learning units.
