The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the various processes and mechanisms of marginalization so that they are able to critically reflect on them. The course will deal with sociological theories of marginalization and social inequalities, as well as the concepts of poverty, exclusion, discrimination, unemployment, etc. that are used to understand marginalization. Theoretical knowledge will be applied to concrete examples from a social work perspective, e.g. in relation to ethnic minorities or homeless people.
