Course content
1. Basic lifestyle-related categories 2. Lifestyle-related demographic conditions, Seminar 0 3. Processes of technological change, the work process and their impact on lifestyle, Seminar 1 4. Changes in the family and their impact on lifestyle, Seminar 2 5. Urbanisation and communication processes and changes in lifestyle, Seminar 3 6. Leisure and cultural change and its impact on lifestyles, Seminar 4 7. Consumer behaviour and hedonism as part of lifestyle, Seminar 5 8. Anti-consumerism, subcultures and DIY, Seminar 6

Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)
Learning outcomes
The course introduces students to the main topics of the sociology of lifestyle. It focuses on the various processes and areas that shape the lifestyle of individuals. It focuses on social inequalities, the modernising processes of urbanisation and the advent of technology, and the areas of family, work and leisure. Particular emphasis is placed on consumer culture and its associated values and activities. The aim is to understand the transformations and multiplicity of lifestyles in late modern society. Students will learn to apply this understanding to practice.
To define basic terms and processes typical for present way of life and life style Pass judgement to choice sphere of social processes influential in way of life
Prerequisites
Knowledge of historical development of sociology and basic topic of general sociology in university level

Written examination, Essay, Interview, Interim evaluation

- Seminar assignment: in a group or individually summarize one seminar article (10 min.) - Final paper before the deadline - Active participation in the discussion - Required articipation
