Learning outcomes

The lectures on Theoretical Foundations of Social Work 2 reflect the main thought currents that influence the development of social work. They also deal with the context of social work performance and its legitimacy. Students will learn to understand the purpose and importance of social work from the point of view of society - ordering party, and clients, and to understand the similarities and differences between social work and other assisting disciplines. An important starting point of the course is the students' first practical experience with the social work they make during excursions (see the subject of Excursion). The subject creates a theoretical understanding for the teaching of social work methods, which is designed as a reflection of the experience of the obligatory practices (see Practice of Case Social Work and Case Social Work; Social Work with Family and Group and Social Work with Family, Social Work with Group, Work with Minorities; Optional Practice, Community Work).

Active participation in the colloquium and successful completion of the test. Both are described in detail on Moodle. The written exam (test) involves both reviewing lecture material and self-study of literature. Tests are conducted on scheduled dates listed in IS/STAG in the computer lab. A separate date is set for the colloquium, where students gain their first practical experience in social work. Participation in the colloquium, for which students register in STAG, is mandatory. Failure to attend the colloquium or any part of it means failing the course.
